This is a story of how two people have prayed and how God has responded. It began with a girl praying for God to send her the man God knew would be the perfect one for her. God listened and Shawn came into her life bringing fun, friendship and a love so sweet that she is still amazed by it. The happy couple enjoyed many adventures and wonderful times together but eventually felt like something was missing. God was listening as always and sent Garrison, a child full of hugs, laughs and sunshine. The couple was so grateful for this child but eventually felt like something was still missing. Once again God listened to their prayers and sent Foster, a child with deep thoughts, sweet smiles and lots of precious angel kisses on his nose. The couple was again very grateful to have been so blessed but something was still missing. Ever faithful, God sent Trox, a child with endless energy who brings out the best in everyone around him and gathers smiles wherever he goes. Even with this third gift, the couple still felt something was missing and prayed for God to show them what more blessings he wanted to add to their lives. God answered that their last (?)- blessing was waiting for them in Russia. Join us as this story continues with their journey to Moscow.

Ground Hog Days

Christy and I are still in the routine of waking around 2 AM and heading down to the gym. I only hope that the exercise counters some of the effects of sleep deprivation:-) The weather is gray with little to no sunlight feeling like twilight all day which doesn't help our sleepiness. It feels a little like the movie Ground Hog Day with the exception of our short but sweet time with Lena. She immediately warmed up to us this trip and is becoming more vocal every time. She is allowing us to hold her hands for longer periods of time and leans in to us when we give her hugs and kisses. The giggles that we get make all of the pain of Moscow traffic seem to fade away. We met a single lady from New York who was adopting a little girl there as well. We couldn't believe the expression on her face when we announced "Lena's" name. This lady had also named her daughter "Lena" after her Great Great Grandmother just as we did. Once again, God is reminding us of his never failing presence. We also look forward to the twice daily skype calls with our boys whose funny recaps of their day brightens ours.

This last trip has tested our patience like no other. Knowing that our daughter is just a few miles away from us but having to wait for the 10 day appeal period is excruciating. Satan has seized the opportunity and filled our minds with all types of fears. This has drastically improved our prayer life and once again ask that you all continue to pray for us.

We will be going to see her once again today and then start all the paperwork chasing on Monday. Tuesday will be a busy day with picking her up, lots of paperwork and inundating ya'll with lots of pictures of our new daughter.
